Diptonia Kennels started with Gundogs in 1976 our family home dates back to the Doomsday Book and is called Pontop Hall, nestling in what was once called the Pont Valley now renamed the Derwent Valley, the family home is a 15th centuary Monastry where Monks of this Monastary lived and worshiped till Cromwell began his purge of the Catholics and they fled down the valley to the nearby Usher College where valuable assets from that era can be viewed, and up till present time is still the residence of trainee Priests
I started out with Irish Setters then after quite a number of years bought my first Gordon Setter from Mrs Y Horrocks, Carek Pink Lady Of Diptonia then my second one arrived from Mrs and Mr G&A Coupe Timadon Lochshiel Of Diptonia these two smashing girls were the foundation of Diptonia Gordon Setters and both produced lovely sound stock, I have bred UK and IR SH CH and also have stud dogs sire Champions and RCC winners
I have also now returned back into my original love of the Irish Setter, brought in Dunnygask Juniper JW from Mrs A Harvey and the new kid on the block Ardbraccan Odyssey For Diptonia (IKC) imported from Miss T Walsh, he is a grandson to Juniper, he has the same wonderful temprement and lovely 'Irish' expression, im hopeing for a lot of fun with this young man
